Description: Deep Venous (Vein) Thrombosis (DVT) of the Right Leg. This full color custom medical exhibit explains how a deep vein thrombus develops in the lower extremity. The exhibit shows the thrombus (blood clot) within the greater saphenous vein at the level of the knee. Three enlarged views of a venous section show the progression of a small tear in the lumen of the vessel into a thrombus which completely occludes the vein and blocks the blood flow.
